Gayle San in WinAmp and MainConcept for Sound Forge

Here we go, with the Clubnight mix by Gayle San. I didn't listen to it last night so I can't tell you how the mix was or is, I only recorded it. I'm about to edit the .mpa sound file and then convert it to .mp3. I'll listen to the mix later when I get a more stable WinAmp, cos the latest official release is crashing all the time. First I thought it's Last.fm's audioscrobbler, but without this plugin the player kept on crashing. I uninstalled it, cleared the registry, installed an older version but still, it kept on crashing, so I guess there is something in the latest version screwing up the system.

Does anybody know what MainConcept Plugin i need to make it possible to open mpeg files with Sound Forge 8 ? ? ? The Sony Product specification says MainConcept MPEG-1&2 plugin . . . yeah, but this doesn't exist anymore. The old version 1.4 ( I think ) doesn't work with Sound Forge 8, only with 7. The only plugins by MainConcept available for download are MPEG Pro™ HD and MPEG Elements™. I guess that MPEG Pro™ HD is the one I need because Sony is mentioned in the product specification, well actually their XDCAM HD camera. If you know what I need please let me know. DJ Kitsune vs. Milk & Sugar

It's Saturday again and therefore time for some party music. Today I can choose between DJ Kitsune's mix or a mix by Milk & Sugar . . . two different styles. Since I'm a house guy I'll stick with Milk & Sugar @ N-joy radio. I know I said that the N-joy mix isn't like the Clubnight mix, but ic ould be that only the last weekends mix was so . . . not so attractive. I can't tell since I recorded only one mix in ages, since they have changed the whole show concept.

I'll probably record DJ Kitsune in the night aswell, 'cos my sister likes that kinda music . . . there are two extra broadcast times to do that, so I'm on the safe side with this . . . I already mentioned this in the last entry. I've checked the Line-up for the Clubnight mixes and the next few weeks look simply great. I hope I won't miss any of those mixes.

Clubnight with Ralf GUM rocks the house

Ralf GUM did an excellent mix . . . well it was very different from the mixes played in the last couple of months in the Clubnight. It seems like many DJ's are getting too much into this elektro house stuff, so you get almost everytime the same kinda mix, even if you have DJ's that play different styles of electronical music ( house, trance, etc. ). The melodical and vocal touch of Ralf GUM's mix was, still is, a great opposite to everything played in the past time. Here are my favourite tracks from the mix.

N-Joy in the mix

Many years ago, before I heard for the first time Clubnight, I listened to N-joy radio and recorded the one hour mixes every Saturday evening. I'm not sure if I still have those mixes since I recorded them on MC's. If I have them I'm not sure if they're still good. Well, anyway . . . after a long long time I decided to record one N-joy mix again. The problem is that N-joy in the mix is Saturdays from 22:00 to 00:00 and the Clubnight mix is Saturday evening from 21:00 to 23:00. If I record one I'll miss one hour of the other mix and vice versa. I don't have the technical equipment to record both mixes, but since Clubnight is broadcast two more times on TV, I can record the mix from N-joy live and Clubnight later in the night.

Mousse T. was on the decks and the mix is O.K. . . . well actually mixes, because he played two one hour mixes. I don't know if this is normal or if this was only this Saturday. Something annoying about the mix is the commercial after one hour of music. Since Mousse T. played two sets, this wasn't a problem 'cos I cut out the commercial, but what if the mix goes throught . . . then it's pretty annoying. Also the traffic announcement in the middle of the mix was annoying. I'll record some more mixes in the next time and see wether this is normal or not . . . maybe I'll keep on recording both N-joy in the mix and Clubnight, but maybe I'll just stick with Clubnight.

320Kb/s sound quality

Saturday evening was again time for a two hour Clubnight session. I hit the record button and lowered the volume so I can watch some DVD. After two hours I was about to hit the stop button when I noticed the recorded filesize. It was a bit too much for a two hour mix, last week it was about 168MB and now 280MB. What the hell ? ? ? This could mean only one thing, a higher bitrate. I checked the channel properties and I was positively surprised when I saw that the audio bitrate was (still is) 320Kb/s. That's great, from 192Kb/s up to 320Kb/s . . . Now it's almost CD quality instead of nearly CD quality. Still I'll downsample it while encoding it into mp3 because of the space this extra bitrates need, but it's great to work with a high quality source.

A good Cubnight weekend with DJ Dag

This weekends Clubnight mix by DJ Dag was a good one. The tracks selection was ( still is ) great, a perfect harmony of sounds creating an incredible mix. . . . I realy dig this mix my Dag.

This time the site is up to date with the lates playlist, I hope I'll be able to keep up the pace and will update the site as fast as possible and as much as possible. I collected the 2006 playlists and will start updating the site with them. They should be online within the next few days.

If you go to the playlist main site, you'll notice a little lag while loading, this is because the Last.fm track list is loading. I picked the Java Script method, because the image methode wouldn't fit into the sidebar box. This way you can click on the track and you'll be taken to the artists or tracks page at Last.fm. If you have some time you can visit my account at Last.fm. I've also created a Clubnight Group Page, which definitively needs an update . . . maybe if I have more time.
